Lagenda

Yes, the title for my entry today is 'lagenda.' I love that song. Very touching and soulful.
We are all proud of P. Ramlee. He changed the world of entertainment, particularly in Malaysia and Singapore. We laugh at his jokes, we smile when he made that 'muka masam' of his (in Labu Labi), we listen to his great songs, we sing those songs of his too (karaoke!!!) 
I think I mentioned this before, that I have chosen this wonderful and talented person as my artist for my ' A Gallery for an Artist' design project. Basically, I will be designing a gallery just for him!  Even better because it will be located here in Oxford!  Now you know why I posted loads of photos about Angel Meadow. That is where the gallery will be built. Of course, this is just part of our design project and it is not for real (although I wish it was  ).
As this is an ongoing project for the whole semester, the tutors are giving us a lot of time to research about the artist. Most importantly is of course the fact that I need to explore the environment I want to create for the visitors of the gallery.
Today we had a model-making workshop. It was very very helpful because I got the chance to test how the interior gallery space will be like using materials such as cardboards etc. I did about 7 concept models, but only 4 were accepted by Adam (my tutor). The other three should go in the bin ( ) but of course I have to take photos of these as well (to put in my portfolio later).
I took photos of one of these 'rubbish' models and here they are. The model was very literal (I know) and hence Adam said no to it. Nevertheless, I played around with the poster I did two weeks ago and integrate it into this particular model. I think it is cool! I love these photos so much!! Can't wait to show to Adam on Tuesday, and say 'Here are the photos of the rubbish and literal model' Hehehehe.
This is just the beginning though. We just have to wait and see how the final design proposal will look like

Down Memory Lane

hello everybody.
havent been updated fotopages for a while. havent got any material actually i was planning to put up some more photos of Angel Meadow but dont think its a good idea since i am tired of it already
so here is something i would call..'down memory lane' my last ever school in Malaysia. years ago though (form 3) was sooooo happy to finally get the chance to sit next to the teacher. hahahaha. i was the assistant monitor rindu nyeeeeeeee~

no class today but since our site analysis is due next tuesday, my friends and i re-visited Angel Meadow (  ). we researched the sound level, wind direction, light, and temperature.
sometimes i feel as if the site is my second home because i spend more time there compare to my own room!!
it was kind of a coincidence that i stumbled into meeting this ladybird. i was planning to take photos of some random dried plants and that was when i saw it

New experience
|
|
one day last month, i sent a free form (just for fun) to GLOSS where if i win, i will undergo a makeover session worth £150 for free. and well, i won GLOSS called me last week and told me the news and all the infos i needed to know.
so yesterday (12th feb) at noon, i arrived at the studio with my dad. i didnt know what to expect, but i was pretty excited! i gave my invitation and £150 voucher GLOSS had sent to me to the receptionist. i waited for about a minute and then one of the staff came to me and directed me to the makeup room. she put some makeup on me and warned me that the makeup will look heavy but its for the photograph thingy. when i took a look at the mirror, OH MY! i honestly didnt know who i was looking at!!! i looked strange. hahahaha.
i went back to the reception to wait for the photography session. my dad was also shocked to see the new me. hahahaha. oh well, at least i laughed too he took a few pics of me using our digicam (but i wont show those pics here..they're horribly strange and funny).
the next part was the photography session. it felt awkward at first but the photographer helped a lot and she directed how i should pose etc etc. i changed...for about 5 times (i brought 3 tops with me) and 38 photos were taken
then i had a mini-facial i.e. getting off those makeup!!!!!! i kept my eye makeup but please please please take off those thick foundation and lipstick!!!!!!!
lastly we had a viewing session. i was kinda nervous coz i didnt know what the outcomes were. i would say...some were unbelievably good! i love the ones i wore my blue kebaya top. those were number one for me. but there were also other good photos out of the 38.
BUT....  i couldnt show any of those photos...they're too pricey...i mean, an album of 25 photos would cost me a total of around £1400! (with nice album, inclusive delivery etc etc etc but still...) in the end, my dad and i chose only one photo (£65) for memory sort of thing. that was the cheapest. oh well. great experience though
as i was waiting for my dad in his office, i took some photos of myself hehehehehe. im glad my eye makeup was still on, and my hair was still up

i know...i know...this is the third entry on Angel Meadow. unfortunately, there'll be more though since this site needs to be observed throughout the semester. this is because it will undergo winter, spring, and summer so, this will be a very interesting observation.
oh well, even though this is STILL about the meadow, my focus this time has to be those beautiful white swans. they always come in pairs. and surprisingly, they always appear whenever i am leaving the site...as if they want me to stay? hmmm very suspicious...maybe i'll try communicating with them next time

i arrived early at DEM06 for our construction lecture. there were only five people in the room. Kaoru came in a few minutes later and sat next to me. she took something out of her bag and unexpectedly, she said, "for you." i turned to her and that was when she gave me a beautiful hand-made ring.
i was speechless.
domo arigatougozaimashita Kaoru!!!! hontou ni bikkurishimashita yo! domo arigatou daisuki!!!!!

people are a fascinating scope for photography.
if i know the techniques or anything about capturing the feeling/expression/mood etc of people, i would take their photographs all the time! (now you know why my focus has been either nature or buildings, and very few photos of people )
spending the evening at Angel Meadow with Kaoru was absolutely fun. while waiting for the day to end, and sitting on one of the benches on Magdalen Bridge, snap! snap! snap!
arigatou ne Kaoru! shashin wa totemo yokatta desu! raishuu mo ichido anata no shashin wo toritai desu ii?

it was FREEEEEEEZZZZZZZZING cold!!!! and adam (archi tutor) had the time to even joke about staying 'overnight' there!!!!!!!!!
anyway, Angel Meadow is the new site for first years new project: A Gallery For An Artist. my artist is the legendary P. Ramlee (although i had a hard time choosing between P. Ramlee and Cristiano Ronaldo ).
on our way back home, my friends and i decided to take a look at River Cherwell that surrounds this meadow. so since this was the first time i actually got the chance to get out of the house (aside from going to uni), i took some photos to put on fotopages bare in mind that no matter how still the water looks or whatever, it was FREEEZZZING! my hands, legs and nose were numb
